Polymer Jewellery with Claudia from Polynomia
When: Saturday 23rd March
Time: 1.00-4.00pm
Enjoy a fun afternoon of working with the very creative local artist Claudia De Salvo from Polynomia Designs , to make your own unique polymer pieces.
This workshop will give participants an introduction to polymer clay and the basics needed for creating their own matching handmade jewellery set. Using simple hand-shaping techniques, individuals will have the opportunity to create a piece of wearable art that they can take home that evening. They will have the freedom to create their colour palette, conceptualise their own design and embellish their pieces before learning how to put it all together at the end.
What you will learn:
We will cover some polymer clay basics including
- Kneading and mixing
- Mixing graduated colours
- Creating shapes, swirls and textures
- Hand shaping pendants and beads
- Creating soft embellishments (tassels and thread details)
- Threading necklaces and assembling earrings
What is provided:
- Enough clay for one pair of earrings and one matching pendant.
- One pair of surgical steel earing studs (posts and backs)
- Enough cord for one necklace.
